I Love Spiderpig!

23:35:00 :: Rants, Entertainment, Lyrics :: Technorati icon :: AddThis Social Bookmark Button

I watched The Simpsons Movie alone on Monday. OMG. If you haven’t watched it, if you didn’t plan to watch it, even if you’re not a fans of The Simpsons still you have to watch it or it would be your loss! My favorite scenes were when Bart skateboarding nakedly and of course: Spiderpig! The girl next to me was watching the movie with her boyfriend and she didn’t even laugh! Gosh. She must be an idiot :) I ate lotsa popcorn that day and I really had a great time! Thank you, The Simpsons!

The last movie (before The Simpsons) I watched at the theater was Lilo & Stitch and it was 5 years ago… I actually don’t really like watching movies at the theater and I prefer getting (pirated) movies and watch them at home, but as I really love and respect The Simpsons I HAVE TO watch it legally :)

So that was my Monday. I was insulted by a friend on Saturday. Yesterday I didn’t do much. Today I was picked up by Agek to Ranch Market and I had my brunch there. It was Fettuccine Carbonara. I was sooo hungry, but after that I really wanted to poop  I couldn’t stand it so I couldn’t accompany Agek to pick up Jethro from school. I went home and lucky I did, because once I got home, I pooped for 5 freaking times!

When I was a child, Mom often made us Jell-O, but then few years later we had cheaper stuff here called “konnyaku”. It’s also a kinda gelatin dessert, originally from Japan. I don’t like puddings, and I don’t like konnyaku as much as I like Jell-O, so I was very happy when I found them again at a supermarket! I made them like twice a week and I serve it with sweetened condensed milk. Gosh, you can’t believe that the dessert’s made by me!

Anyway, as I am still thinking of that cute and funny pinkish Spiderpig…..

Mom was in Japan

19:17:42 :: Rants, Dreams, Entertainment :: Technorati icon :: AddThis Social Bookmark Button

Mom left Dad and I for some reason. We didn’t know where she was and found it out from her sisters. She was preparing herself in a hotel and was going to Japan for few years to work there. I was so sad. I called her on her cellphone but she pretended that she couldn’t hear me and gave the phone to my aunt. My heart was so broken…

That’s why I cried and screamed in my sleep today. I suddenly remembered that Mom once took a picture in kimono before she got married.

I watched “Thérèse: The Story of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux” with Dad today. It’s okay, not as good as I expected. I admired her love for God, though, but I disagree with her love interpretation. Yes, she dedicated her youth and life all for God, but how to love and serve other people (other than those nuns in the same monastery they stayed)? Doesn’t God want His people to extend His love to all of human beings and not just to our “friends”? Leaving the real world to a monastery to me is just like escaping from reality…

Anyway, who am I so I can say this? :) I believe that God loved Thérèse de Lisieux very much because she loved Him more than other people did, and I could never love God as much as she did… The movie wasn’t too detailed and I got better understanding after reading her Wiki bio.

Have a good Tuesday.

JanjiMU Seperti Fajar

I’m seriously not a fan of Indonesian telenovelas, but this one is an exception. I’ve liked the theme song before the telenovela was being aired on RCTI for the first time since we sometimes sing it in Church during the praise and worship. I’ve been really hooked anyway with this telenovela for weeks and I found my tears fell on my cheek when I watched it tonight :)

It’s not a usual Indonesian telenovela that mostly is about black magic, Islam and other things that’s not interesting to me — but this one teaches me about divine love. In tonight’s episode, there’s a dialog that really hit me: The only divorce that’s allowed by God is when one of the (married) couple was called Home, but other than that it’s sinful to marry someone who’s spouse is still alive, it’s sinful to leave a spouse for another wo(man). These days, it’s so easy for a man to leave his wife for another woman, and for a (single) woman to marry someone else’s husband. That hurts God and it won’t bring happiness to anyone. The series itself isn’t covered by glamor, which is good. Being a Christian means being blessed, but doesn’t always mean being blessed materially.

I heard a sermon a couple of weeks ago, saying that people who’re blessed with wealth aren’t really blessed people, if they’re not also blessed by the chance to enjoy the blessing. And it’s so true.

I thank RCTI for giving us such great program and I thank Indonesian government for the freedom to air such thing on TV. I pray that there’ll be more Christian entertainment conglomerates have guts to have that kinda program. It strengthens many faith, and it will bring more souls to Him.

God’s promise is like the sun
that breaks the dawn
that never fail nor be late to come
His love is like running river,
and I know how deep is His love…

Rock on, Hary Tanoe! Keep serving Him!

I spent the afternoon with Yayi and her husband. We went to a lawyer office in Bintaro, then to Carrefour BSD. It’s more tiring than fun, but I needed to know about the couple before making any decision. I brought C’est Moi with me and we two spent time together in the street at Taman Tekno BSD when the couple bought some furniture for their kids.

I felt like a mother, spending an evening with her son. I was so happy, but I wish God makes dogs talking in human language :)

Neways, yes. It’s PMS-y. I got my menses a week earlier this month. I wonder why I get my period too early lately…

Raising My Spirit Up

02:30:27 :: Rants, Entertainment :: Technorati icon :: AddThis Social Bookmark Button

I have a confession to make.

I’ve been attracted to some guy I met on-line since less than a week ago. He loves basketball, he’s local, and… he’s 9 years younger. Than me, of course.

He has a boutique in Kemang and he’s currently in Bandung as he has a series of basketball games he gotta play. He won yesterday, and so far we only chatted once on-line and texted each other few times. That’s it. I just enjoyed those distractions when I was thinking of my problems. Hope he won’t be another problem for me.

I watched “Raising Cain” and now am watching “The Muse”. I like them both, and they are all about people with multiple personalities. I think Albert Brooks is one of my favorite comedians now.

Oh, well. We all have reasons when we get crazy. There’s always something to get one crazy. Nobody wants to be abnormal, unless one finds that normality is boring. Just like me. And if we’re attentive and creative enough, even a mental illness could be a beautiful inspiration that we even haven’t been thinking of before.

I’d get my imagination dance tonight in some secluded forests and mountains — places that real world doesn’t even know that they exist.

In real world, I’m quite invisible to some people, too. James, my so-called relatives, and some people who once called themselves as my “best friends” :)

Have a good week end.

Thanks for The Cakes, Sam

OK, remember when Paul McCartney wrote the song “Michelle” and then he only wrote the first part, Annie said. And then he gave that part to John Lennon, and he wrote the part that said, “I love you, I love you, I love you.” And Annie said that it wouldn’t have been the same song without that… and that’s why the whole world cried when the Beatles broke up on April 10, 1970.
– Sam Dawson

If you needed to cry, look for “I am Sam”. It really made me sob uncontrollably… No, it wasn’t a movie about The Beatles even though it’s mentioned a lot in the movie. It’s simply a love story of a (mentally retarded) father and her daughter. God. I’m so in love with Dakota Finning. She’s such an angel! I posted a piece of the movie here, if you wanted to taste it first…

When I was bicycling with Miskiyah this afternoon, I saw there’s quite some people at one of my neighbor’s house. They’re having a party, but I didn’t really care. I don’t make friends with my neighbors because I’m like that. I don’t like to mingle with people I don’t know really well.

Few hours later, their maid came over to my place and met my maid. She gave us a plate of cakes and said that her boss celebrated his return from umrah. I don’t even know that my neighbor was travelling. I don’t even know their names :P But anyway, it’s really sweet of them and I guess I’ve to start to say hello the next time I meet them…

I gotta sign off now. I haven’t showered since yesterday :)

What Makes You Laugh?

14:56:28 :: Entertainment :: Technorati icon :: AddThis Social Bookmark Button

“Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World” was a good movie! It’s not a comedy movie and I didn’t even find Albert Brooks funny. I didn’t get his jokes like all the Indian audience that watched his show. At all. I didn’t laugh at any scene while I was watching this movie. But it’s a really good movie and we learned that it’s easier to find out why and what makes people hate easier than what makes them laugh. It’s not important that I didn’t get his jokes, I believe it’s just some cultural gap: What’s funny for Americans isn’t always funny for me. No big deal.

It’s banned in Malaysia and I’d never heard about that movie until I saw it at a DVD shop at ITC BSD few weeks ago. I bought it because the title was interesting. And I was right. The title was as interesting as the story. It’s more political than funny. I learned how narrow-minded a nation or some people can be :)

Anyway, it’d be make a great question of the day: “What makes you laugh?”

And if you found it’s hard to answer the question, would it be easier for you if the question were: “What makes you upset/worried?”

I believe that narrow-mindedness doesn’t only belong to the people of India, Pakistan or the Muslims in general - but sadly it stays in most of any human race in the world, regardless what their religion is.

By the way, the Indian girl in the movie was very pretty and I wish her name wasn’t Maya :P

It’d be interesting if the movie were made in Indonesia as it’s the biggest Muslim country in the world. Hmmm…

Annabelle, Mac and Casey

Today’s a public holiday here. It’s Islamic New Year that falls on 1 Muharram., and on Islamic calendar, 2007 is 1428 H.

I slept early last night and I’m somehow glad that lately I really can sleep early. I watched “Loving Annabelle” before I went to bed. I found it “okay”. I still like “Brokeback Mountain” better even though they both are gay movies.

I feel fresher when I woke up this morning. I really had a very good night sleep. Yay.

There’s an on-line quiz last night I took before turning my PC off last night:

Are you a Mac or a PC?

    Mac
You like things to be simple and are willing to pay a little more to be in fashion. You’re more of a creative person than a business person.

:) That’s so darn true…

Di invited me to comfort a daughter of her friend named Casey, age 11 years old that’s being hospitalized. I sent her a Hallmark e-card and an edited picture of herself. Hope she likes it and don’t find me irritating :)

You also can send Casey some love. Read this.

I’m going to cook for Dad’s lunch now. I can’t wait to chat with a friend after that. I hope he’s doing fine. I’ve been worrying about him since he told me that he’s not fine. He didn’t have time to tell me about it because he’s at work the last time I texted him, and yesterday I couldn’t log in to any messenger for some reason. I hope he’s doing better now…
