Thursday Thirteen: Cast of Characters

- Dad
Simply my father. Born in 1925, a VERY God-fearing man. He has an obession to publish a book and to spread God’s words in China. His father was half-Hawaiian. - Miskiyah
A woman that has been working for us since I was a kid. I taught her to read and write when I was 9. She was born in 1962, has 2 girls, got married 3 times and divorced 3 times as well. - Tante Dessy
“Tante” means “auntie” in Indonesian. She’s my (late) mother younger sis and she stayed with us for more than 2 years before Dad and I moved to this house in July 2006. - Oom Hendra
Tante Dessy’s husband. A good-for-nothing man which I sometimes refer him as “the whale” in my blog. “Oom” means uncle. Tante Dessy and Oom Hendra have 2 sons: Daniel and Andreas. Daniel is my most favorite cousin. - Maya
A so-called best friend. She’s my neighbor now since I moved here. She has 2 sons from her previous marriage and they both are schooling in Singapore, being taken care by Maya’s parents: Oom Thomas and Tante Jenny. I’ve known Maya since 1988. We went to the same university. - Dudung
Maya’s current husband. They have one girl Penelope (Pe) which is quite attached to me. - Ronald
Maya’s younger brother. - Agek
Ronald’s wife. They have 2 kids: Chloe and Jethro. Chloe is also schooling in Singapore and Jethro is the cutest boy in the neighborhood. Yes, they also live close to us. - Martin
A “friend-with-benefits” that I like a lot, but I don’t really trust. He has a dry sense of humor, long hair and most people say that we look alike - which I don’t find as a compliment. - Vivi
My bestest friend ever. She understands me the most and I love her very much. We went to the same university, so she’s Maya’s friend, too. And also Shirly and James. If you sometimes found that I mentioned a name of Ella, she’s Vivi’s friend that has become my friend, too. Vivi has the most handsome young man in the world, married to a New-Zealender. - Jeanne
Another friend of mine. We’re currently setting up an on-line e-shop together with her friend Olive. Married with 2 sons. - Susan
A fellow Virgo, a fellow blogger that doesn’t blog much lately. - Yaya, Fiqqa, and some other names.
Just friends of friends, or people I don’t keep in touch often - but have contributed a lot as the source of my blog writing. And of course, they do not know that I’ve made them on-line celebrities

great idea. casts of characters give readers a frame of reference that is often missing in most personal blogs.
